Acupressure

This is the art of using pressure at specific acupressure points to alleviate suffering & improve health. Acupressure can be done in different ways -- on different parts of the body & with different techniques.
Parts of the body are referred to as body, ear, reflexology (hands &feet) & techniques are soft pressure, firm pressure, hard pressure, etc.

We have evidence of acupressure in our lives with lots of rings on fingers & toes, jewellery across the body & positioning of the kunku (tilak) red vermillion placed on forehead by orthodox Indian women. All these have specific meanings & are done with that purpose. Unfortunately, today we have forgotten the essential meaning & reasoning for all these activities-- and tend to practise them like robots without any understanding.

Kunku traditional was always applied by the right hand & in clockwise manner on "Yin Tang" point (area of third eye). This is supposed to be stimulated every time one applies Kunku (Kumkum).
The wedding & engagement ring are worn on ring finger of left hand. Suffice to say that the meridian running through this finger is the Three Heater meridian which goes to the emotional side of the heart. It is supposed to tie the person's emotions to the one who placed the ring on your finger.

Similarly in India a wedded woman has toe rings placed on the 2nd toe of both feet. They trigger the stomach meridian. It is said that these rings bind one to your husband emotionally.

There are specific prescriptions for different ailments & a person should be well versed in locating the acupressure point, using the correct technique of pressure to achieve therapeutic benefit. There should be some discomfort during treatment. But it should not be unbearable at any time.

Benefits of treatment should be noticeable -- sometimes immediately & generally by a day or two after treatment.
We offer therapeutic Acupressure massage with steam bath for specific clients as per prescription at Pune.
